about
So, I wrote this track a little while ago whilst I was struggling with my own mental health. I was feeling lost, and isolated. I recorded this live session whilst recording two other singles with my band, but wasn't able to release it at the time.
Given everything that's happening at the moment with most of the world on lockdown in isolation, I imagine a lot of people are going through their own struggles mentally as well as physically, so I thought it was time for it to see daylight.
I will be donating all the proceeds of the release to Shelter and also to NHS Charities Together, who have both been continuing to do amazing work helping the most vulnerable of us that have been affected by Covid-19. Please give what you can, follow the government advice and stay safe during the strangest of times <3
lyrics
lyrics
It's harder than it seems, from the outside looking in,
On a snow-globe, it goes so slow.
And as far as I can see, on the inside it's just me,
and I don't know, there's a whole.
World I cannot see, there's a world I cannot see.
And it's easy to relax, its easy to attract,
The numbness, and become less.
And it's harder to go back, when you're leaving no tracks,
and your footsteps, fade away.
And your footsteps, fade.
'Cause you cut me off, the comfort drug,
but I'll relapse, know I'll relapse.
Will it be enough? Will it speed me up?
Will I go back? Will I relapse?
Will I relapse? Will I relapse?
And I know that you are scared, lost and unprepared.
Well so am I, and my aims are sky high,
But I wouldn't change a thing.
No I wouldn't change a thing.
'Cause you cut me off, the comfort drug,
But I'll relapse, know I'll relapse.
Will it be enough? Will it speed me up?
Will I go back? Will I relapse?
Will I relapse? Will I relapse?
It's harder than it seems, from the outside looking in,
On a snow globe, it goes so slow,
And as far as I can see, on the inside it's just me...
